This diet gets the top spot as it is detailed and if you follow it then it will force you to change your lifestyle for the better so you can eat healthier and feel a lot healthier. But it does require an overhaul of your eating habits and hard work, if you want a simpler way to lose weight then check out the diet in 2nd place.

This is a digital guide which you download and read from your computer or print out, and you can also upgrade and get some MP3's to listen to and a consultation with the author.

It goes through different body types and then gives you a questionnaire so you can calculate yours, then you learn what levels of carbs/fats and protein your body type reacts best to so you can be full of energy and feel great so you don't pig out on junk food.

Then you get taken through good and bad things to eat and how to avoid a lot of the dangerous chemicals that are found in some common foods that damage our bodies.

Weight loss is achieved by cutting calories, but the author says that when you start eating the right foods then weight loss should be almost effortless.

So this is a detailed guide which shows you how to eat right for your body type and how to eat healthier in general, and deserves a hearty 4.5/5.

Dr Siegal's Cookie Diet®

I don't usually recommend meal substitution diets as they taste horrible and always leave you feeling deprived, but this one is actually quite different.

Basically you get a pouch of 6 cookies for the day which replace your breakfast and lunch, then you eat a healthy evening meal after that. The cookies are designed to fill you up and suppress hunger while being really low in calories, but also provide nutrients to fuel you throughout the day (you also get some multivitamins free with your order to take once a day).

The good thing is they actually do suppress your hunger! I tried this out and some days I found that an hour before dinner I stilll had a cookie left and I had to just eat it quick to get rid of it even though I wasn't hungry! And I usually eat a lot during the day! They taste good too, not delicious as he says if he made them delicious you'd eat the whole pack in one go, but I looked forward to having my next one with a cup of coffee (I had the chocolate ones).

If you buy his book at the same time as some cookies then you'lll see the science behind the cookies and how passionate the doctor who created this system is about them.

So I don't recommend this long term, and once you lose weight then you really need to learn to eat healthier so it doesn't come back, but as an easy and quick way to lose weight then this is a great plan and deserves 4 stars, if not more.

Fat Loss 4 Idiots

This is not the most comprehensive diet package here, and it doesn't really explain how or why you will lose weight with the program, but what it does give you which made it come into 3rd place, is a definite plan to follow.

Dieting is hard enough at the best of times, without having to also try and condense a 200 page diet book into a workable plan, sometimes you just want to be given a plan to follow so you don't get sidetracked.

That is what this system does, you choose from a variety of foods, then press a button and it spits out an 11 day eating plan, you get told what to eat for every meal and how to make the meal (most are simple quick meals).

You then get 3 days off to eat whatever you want, then you repeat another 11 days if you want to lose more weight, and this time you can choose different foods to get a slightly different plan if you want to try something new.

So this gets 3 stars for having the software which spits out those meal plans for you to follow.
